How I Turned One Service Into My Most Requested Spray Tan Upsell
Remember getting your makeup done and realizing one artist could make your features look completely different from another? Same face. Same makeup category. Totally different technique.
That’s how I think about spray tans.
A beautiful, even tan will always be a staple. But I wanted to offer my clients something that felt more personal, so I developed Soft Girl Contour™. It adds subtle definition through thoughtful placement and soft blending, all within the spray tan service.
At first, I couldn’t expect clients to ask for it by name. They didn’t know this kind of upgrade existed. I had to show them the transformation and explain it in a way that made sense to them. Once they could picture the result, it became much easier for them to choose it.
I also made it an actual service on my menu. I gave it a name, a description, and its own price. That sounds simple, but it matters. If you’re doing something special and your booking page still calls it a basic spray tan, your clients won’t know what else you offer.
Of course, the technique has to back up the description. Soft Girl Contour isn’t about spraying the same lines on every body. It’s about looking at the client in front of you, choosing the right placement, and blending until the result feels soft and natural.
